Customer reviewsSolid, sturdy structure, looks like a custom, professional job
Ordered from Amazon on Tuesday, received the following Monday via UPS, 3 boxes strapped together on a skid, each weighing about 200 lbs. Did an inventory, nothing missing, nothing damaged. I am a pretty handy 72 year old guy and taking my time, I assembled the entire structure alone in about 40-50 hours and put it all together myself, except for mounting the roof pieces, when I had 2 others help me. One helpful tip put all the screws, bolts, etc in cups marked with the labels from the plastic packages so you can quickly find the right parts when you need them and not lose any. The most challenging part was keeping the roof pieces square because at least 3-4 of the rafters were warped and had to be pulled or pushed into the proper positions centered on the pre-drilled holes in the ridge boards, resulting in having to use some shims after the roof was on in order to attach the metal brackets to the ridge for the vertical tie braces for the truss assemblies because in a few cases the roof rafters from each roof piece did not meet up flush and were off by as much as 1 4 inch or so. The final result was a very professional looking structure that looks custom made and sturdy enough for North Carolina, where I have lived the past 3 years and experienced 2 hurricanes already. By the way, I anchored the pavilion with 3 8 sleeve anchors 3 long on my concrete patio. The heavy duty nature of the pavilion was one of the main reasons I chose it over the very flimsy looking metal structures offered by others at a similar price. One more tip It took LOTS of dish soap to slide the ridge caps on so don t be stingy with the soap. It was even more difficult than usual for me because I had to slide the rear ridge cap short all the way from the front to the rear of the pavilion pushing it with the main ridge cap due to the fact that the back of my pavilion is less than a foot from my home and it could not be installed from the rear.
